Galaxy-Galaxy Lens Simulations
Mock strong gravitational lenses on the scale of galaxies and groups.
This is an archive of galaxy scale gravitational lenses. These simulations are meant for testing and training lens finding algorithms. They can also be used for testing lens modeling codes. Information is included about each lens in the metadata files such as the redshifts, Einstein radii, magnification, luminosity of the source, etc.
Set 1 of 100,000 x 4 images (19 GB) metadata

The simulations where done with a method similar to Metcalf, et al. 2019, A&A, 625, A119, but with significant modifications that will be published in the future. In short, the lens and companion galaxies are taken from are extracted from the Flagship simulation . A ray-shooting simulation is done with the GLAMER code (Metcalf & Petkova, 2013; Petkova, et al. 2013 ). The halos used in the simulation contain both a dark matter and a baryonic component estimated according to a model. Sources derived from real galaxy images are added to the simulations. The psf, noise and artefacts are added at the end and are specific to the intended survey.
A presentation discribing the simulations is here . A more complete written description is pending.
