MultiDark Lens Simulations
A set of weak lensing simulations of wide fields for everyone to use.
The MultiDarkLens is an international collaboration to provide high quality weak lensing simulations that are specifically tailored to paticular surveys. We hope that the simulations provided will be used for new tools and methods and for evaluating the errors in future weak lensing surveys.
The cosmological simulation used is the BigMultiDark simulation Klypin et al. 2014 (arXiv:1411.4001). The ray-tracing is done with GLAMER code which self consistently follow perturbed light paths and calculates the shear and convergence beyond second order.
The BLF portal gives access to shear and convergence maps for different source redshifts and light-cone realizations. In addition there are shear catalogs where the shear for individual galaxies are listed.
